HT750 Problem

Alright, so a few years back I bought a HT750 at a hamfest (Model AAH25RDC9AA3AN) and it has been working for years, although when i bought it I noticed a quiet high pitched noise it would make from the speaker, It didn't effect performance much. Just recently it "died", all it did was make that high pitched noise, no power up test, nothing, so I ordered a new battery for it, and that didn't work. I figured it finally died, so I bought a pretty beat up HT750 LS off of eBay and swapped the housings. The LS works fine in the old 750 case. but i put the "Dead" HT750 in the LS case and now when I turn it on it makes the high pitched noise and even when I turn the volume knob to off it still makes the noise. So i am just wondering what part of it failed? and is it recoverable? Also the HT750LS in the 750 case seems to turn itself on and off when moved, I believe it is a battery connection issue, i assume i just need to bend the battery connector prongs out a bit more to make better contact with the battery.

Yea that happen to me when I had the ht1250 uhf model. I had it for about 1 1/2 years and died nothing powered up. I sold it for parts.

We use a lot of the Motorola HT Series (750 & 1250) radios in our public safety system. To me this sounds like a bad battery issue. Those radios will start making weird noises if the battery is weak or on its way out.
