Good afternoon,
I was wondering if anyone had luck monitoring Huntington County Pa Police Frequencies on the UHF band. On the RR page, it shows partial encryption. I was wondering which parts were encrypted and if anything on it is unencrypted?
Monitoring from Fulton Co, but I generally get good Huntington service where I am from.

Thanks!

County dispatch is in the clear, officers are encrypted but it seems to depend on the department, some may even be using selectable encryption from what I've heard. Im in the northern part of Fulton and can get them on an indoor antenna here.

Do you happen to know/have experience with what departments are encrypted on that frequency? Also, what are you using to scan it? I usually get good fire dispatch (more towards Knobsville) so I think I am in the clear

I think I've heard that Mt. Union is encrypted for sure, i think they are the 600 units. There actually seems to be more traffic in the clear than what is encrypted most days. Im using an old BC796D. They come in best on my indoor antenna on that frequency but yet fire dispatch and EMS ops work better on the outdoor antenna, I don't listen to the fire ops usually because here I have a bad cochannel issue on ops 1 and 2, I think its one of WV state's P25 system sites down near Berkeley Springs which is an almost direct shot south from me.

HC911 transmits in the clear to the field units. The field units are selectable ENC on LAW OPS and LAW TAC. MUPD has mostly switched to ENC transmissions but every so you can hear them in the clear if they use LAW OPS CLR

What frequency/NAC is LAW TAC?
