I'm back guys... Brief run down of events:
On Sunday morning before the storm, everyone in my house loaded up in the car and we linked up with my parents and convoyed to Auburn Ala. 10 hours later we arrived at the hotel. Spent that night watching the tv, this is also where I made my post about the server being down apparently. Then for the next 3 days we sat there watching the destruction unfold on TV. We decided to move on, and headed to Shreveport LA where I dropped off the people riding with me at their family. Then continued up into North East Arkansas (Woodruff Co/Jackson Co) with NO INTERNET and barely any A/C. while staying with family. We left on the 14th and returned back home.
My parent's house (in Gautier, next to Pascagoula) was untouched. Well there was a lot of debris in the yard, and the wooden fence fell down but the house was fine. My house (in west Biloxi) however did take a beating. I still have all contents inside safe and sound, no water damage, mostly wind damage. the wooden fence is gone, the siding is gone, some windows are gone, and all of the trees. The yard looks horrible, BUT the house is still here and we're staying in it as of Thursday.
INTERNET didn't get restored here until YESTERDAY Friday. I've been trying to catch up with so much stuff it's not even funny. Major arteries into the city are destoryed. Getting around is a real hard thing. Roads which were only meant for light traffic now bear ALL TRAFFIC. 4 exits out of the city are down due to bridges being out. It's going to be rough for the rest of this year and most of next.
Since the internet was just restored I'll be hooking my Scanner back to the LIVE FEED on Monday and should have it running NON-STOP again by then. The office took serious roof damage but they repaired that, and restored power to it just Thursday.
I'll have some new things added. Mainly focusing on KATRINA TRAFFIC...
The Interop 800mhz conventional repeaters are being used like crazy down here. I've also found a couple of "NEW" 800mhz trunked systems which weren't here before. I hope to have all of the national guard active comms added as well. So there will be some new and interesting things to listen to. The National Guard in Jackson County are using county radios on their TRS.
So some time Monday morning go back to
http://www.nexusradio.us and see if you can listen. Also I'll increase the users by 10 to make it 30.
