To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello.
I have the Hytera X1P and in the “Feature Check” the FULL ENCRYPT (ARC4) is not active.

How could I active it? I don’t know how to get a license or if is there other method to active it?

Hello the 10-32-64 characters is for de BP algorithm, however the EP (Full Encryption) is not active.

The firmware of the radio is A9.00.07.105.iM

So, this radio accepts AES? I thinks only BP and EP (Full Encryption).

I only need the full encryption.

Do you know and online service to buy this license?

Thanks

I don’t know the difference between:
- Full Encrypt Hytera
- Full Encrypt DMRA

I need to be compatible with de ARC4-40bits algorithm of Motorola.

Thanks

for ARC4 you don't need to buy a license. Choose 40-bit Full encryption, that's ARC4. Full Encrypt-Hytera and Full Encrypt-DMRA are AES and require a license purchase

Full Encrypt - Hytera was their proprietary encryption method. DMRA they added to be compatible with other vendors. As long as your firmware is even remotely current EP/ARC4 should work.

I am using the CPS for hytera V9.00.08.400.iM.EM5

For a communication to a Motorola with ARC4-40bits key…

My configuration in the hytera X1p is:
-Digital Common/Encrypt/10 characters/ (Key length 10 and my key).

-Conventional/channel/Digital Channel/Encrypt activated/Encrypt type: FULL/Encrypt key: key 1

And doesn’t work…. I don’t know why.

Thanks, and in the CPS configuration for the ARC4 what should I put: Basic or Full?

You want full encrypt, and make sure your KeyID matches what you are using in Moto CPS.
You mentioned what CPS you are using... but what firmware is in the radio? Is it current? Just having current CPS isn't enough if the radio has old firmware. DMRA ARC4 wasn't introduced until firmware 6.5 or 7 I believe.

The keyID matches.

So, I thought that it was about the license activation:

hard to guess the reason without seeing the codeplug. Change the key values and frequencies in both codeplugs and upload them here so we can see what you did wrong

Ok thanks, I am going to program again.
So, where could I find the last CPS?

Maybe the problem is about the version. I don’t know.

No. The problem is not in the CPS version. Look for the problem in your codeplugs. Are you trying to connect two radios in direct mode or via a repeater? If you are trying to connect via a repeater, are you sure that RAS is not used?

As mentioned your firmware and CPS versions are fine. It could possibly be that it doesn't show as enabled under Feature Control but I've had radios in the past that were like that and had no issues (since the feature was added for free in the firmware). Definitely try the simplest setup first. Use a conventional simplex channel, KID=1 and a key of 1111111111 (or similar..just something dead simple). What I like to do is program 2 channels for testing, one in the clear (so I can confirm all other settings are good) then one with encryption enabled.

It is direct radio

Sir.

I have reprogrammed the CPS and now works good in direct mode.

It is true that in basic encryption receive ARC4 good. (Direct mode).

However, now my problem is that receiving in the Hytera, from a Motorola radio through repeater, the call is mute. I can see the called ID and TG. However no sound. If I use a anytone878 to receive no problem.
No RAS on the repeater.

I can’t see on the Hytera CPS any option to select direct or repeater mode. So in the screen I see RM (So it is repeater mode).

My doubt if I need to put a configuration in the Hytera to work better with a Motorola.

Dmr trunking is not active. So I think that I don’t need that (Only for TIII, no?).

Trunking is TIII, that is correct.

Are you using the same radio ID in both radios by chance?
Radio ID is different.
So, I receive the call in the hytera (Same frecuency, tg, cc…) however sound is mute. Analog frequency sounds good. (My other Anytone receive sound good)
I don’t know. I am investigating.

how could I get a clear codeplug for the hytera X1p? perhaps some configuration is bad and I can’t found.
