OK, here is something new that looks like was just installed. On the overpasses of I-75 in Cobb County (Hwy 5 and Delk Road), there are 5, what looks like, cameras that are facing south and 5 cameras that are facing northbound for each lane. Anyone seen or know about these?

It is probably an application of new technology that measures traffic flow as opposed to burying wire loops in the pavement.

In Cobb we have the same thing at traffic lights. Instead of repairing a loop they just add one or more cameras to control the lights. Cobb Dot told me it is cheaper and less failure prone that the old ground loop system.

I don't believe the camera b7spectra is referring to are the same ones referenced above on Georgia Navigator. These are new camera applications and those Georgia Navigator cameras have been in place for years. Besides, you wouldn't need 5 cameras to provide a video feed of traffic movement for the website. I saw them too and am inclined to believe they have some lane monitoring application.

Turn the channel, it's only on CBS.

Sorry, there it's not big brother watching you, it's you watching big brother (although it's been a rather boring season with everyone just going along with 'what the house wants', even if it's that they're getting evicted that week).

What is really strange, is that they were there on the 9th, and today on the 10th, they were GONE! They definitely are not the traffic surveillence type cameras, but they were, I guess, temporarily mounted to the overpass and one each to a lane.
