Hello all.
VERY NEW to this whole scanner thing. I just purchased a Uniden BCD325P2 scanner and an aftermarket antenna. I am a brand-new subscriber to this site AND I purchased a premium membership. I downloaded the SW, imported my desired frequencies and I hear NOTHING. Well, I hear NOTHING from my hometown. I do hear the weather which I had to lockout because it is nonstop so I know it works but I can't get anything out of my hometown of North Haven, CT. Any thoughts on how I can proceed? Thank you.

I thought I could simply type in my zipcode and the scanner will pick up everything analog/digital etc in my area?

Can you post a link from the RR database for the system you're trying to monitor?

What software are you using to download the data and program the scanner? Have you turned on the list it created?

The 325P2 uses Systems, Groups and Frequencies.

Program the System, add Talk Groups and Frequencies and you should be good to go.

What system are you attempting to monitor?

Here's an "Easier to Read" manual for the scanner:

I am in the Cromwell area, so keep us posted.

Good luck!

just to hear something other than the weather.
when the radio is scanning,
hit the hold button, type in 460.3625, hit the hold button.
this is a temporary way to listen to any frequency and is gone when you do anything else.

That is the RR page for your county. The P25 system works out-of-the-box. But the DMR systems require the additional purchase of the DMR activation key. that can purchased from:
Uniden(uniden.com)
Scanner Master(scannermaster)
Zip Scanners(zipscanners.com)

If you were looking for a scanner with zip code look up, you have the wrong scanner. You have to program the 325 P2 like traditional scanners were programmed.
