• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I need some help with the MOTOROLA GTR8000 single trunking system

I have several GTR8000 repeaters, GCP8000 controllers, a Celwave 6 Channel Combiner, and an HP switch. I want to set up a single Site Trunking System. Do I need any other equipment? I need some help, thank you very much!

From your other posts, it seems that you're way, way out of your depth. Do your "friends" work for a public safety agency? Do you have a valid license for the frequencies that this equipment is configured for - and moreover, do you know what band your gear is even configured to use? VHF, UHF, 800, 900? Do you have any of the power distribution, signaling, and other frames that this gear was designed to use? Do you understand what any of this gear is intended for or how it's used? I'm sure you'd get a lot more answers if it wasn't quite so obvious (to me, at least) that you're potentially going to cause yourself a lot more grief than you'd ever want.

All the questions above are valid. Without rehashing that, a simple design requires at minumum, 2 GTR, 1 GCP, 1 Switch. With that you need knowledge on how to program everything to work that way and the ability to SWDL the versions to the correct stuff. I'd be more curious where this stuff falls out of the sky because my SAR team would love to upgrade from MTR's...

So, in review of your other post, if this is the same GTR you've got that you posted a screenshot of, it's configured for UHF 422.7125 TX/411.7125 RX, which is in the licensed PLMR segment of UHF, which means you're going to need to deal with whomever handles frequency coordination for your region, and the FCC (in the US, dunno elsewhere) for licensing to use those channels, or others that you can reconfigure this GTR to use, if you're going to use it as a conventional repeater at the very least - and more of the same if you're going to be using it for a trunking site - all of these things I am sure you know, if not, your "friends" should school you with the quickness.

Yes, our system is also used by local rescue teams, we have previously been using regular QUANTAR base stations. We studied some official manuals and we encountered some problems with the connection between the devices.

Sounds like you need to read some more. Setting up a trunked system isn’t something you can learn from asking questions on a hobbyist forum. Open a case with SSC and ask for assistance.

If you had a working Quantar (as you say it was previously working) and your "local rescue teams" were using it then you should have a contract. I agree with KevinC - call SSC and get help from them. Otherwise your "official manuals" should be sufficient for your guys to work out the problems and give you guidance on your new GTR8000's.

Under Service tab post a picture of both hardware and software pages to see what we are working with here. (must be connected to the base station to get this info). Hard to help without this basic info.

在“服务”选项卡下发布硬件和软件页面的图片,以了解我们在这里使用的内容。(必须连接到基站才能获取此信息)。如果没有这些基本信息,很难提供帮助。
The status panel screen displays that it cannot find the control channel, but I have already set the control channel in the channel settings.

loki7777 you are way over your head. You were given the best information which was start a ticket with Motorola. What you are trying to do is not as simple as program a conventional radio. I would also question your friend as to how he got this equipment and why it was simply given away. Did your friend give you the hardline, antennas and the tower also?

(1). Confirm the GTR8000's are IP'd on the same subnet (use CSS serial connection).
(2). Confirm the GTR8000's work standalone into a dummy load. Use CSS to monitor.
- it should come up in failsoft - "if" programmed correctly.
(3). Confirm the GTR8000's / GCP are pingable via the switch - if needed go ghetto and replace the HP swith
with any Layer 2 switch (doable since you don't have a GGM8000 or Juniper site router carrying VLAN's
to the master site).

>> key here is all boxes needed to be talking to one another on the same subnet <<

(4). Confirm via CSS proper BR firmware and verify compatibility (1-800-221-7144).
(5). Confirm in CSS channel status the GTR's are not malfunctioned. Root cause needs to be nailed
down and corrected (see earlier steps above), before going any further. You are wasting your time
until that fault condition is cleared.

Read what i said again, that is not what i asked for.

I said "Under Service tab post a picture of both hardware and software pages".

You must be hooked to the GTR to get this specific information.
I am very sorry for not reading what you said carefully yesterday, and I apologize again. I have copied the device information content from the GTR8000 and GCP8000 devices. The attached images are in the order of GTR8000 Hardware Version, GTR8000 Software Version, GCP8000 Hardware Version, and GCP8000 Software Version. Thank you very much!

Looks like you have everything needed, just a matter of programming. Not sure if those are simulcast, if so... you need a 10mhz and 1pps reference, you can find those for cheap on ebay. TRAK was likely used, but a Trimble Thunderbolt would work.
