• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello,
First time post here so please bear with me... The company I work for recently purchased 4 Icom F3021T radios. I'm trying to program/clone them with the computer and one won't communicate with the computer while the others will. This one particular radio says "No answer from Transceiver" whenever I try to read or write info from it. Otherwise it works fine and can be face programmed no problem... I'm using a 9 pin serial cable and running windows XP on my computer. I've tried different cables, turning the radio on before and after plugging the cable in and nothing works. Has anybody got any suggestions?
Thanks!

Do you know if the company purchased them new, or repackaged?
Did they buy them from an Authorized Icom Dealer, or one of those online non-authorized websites?
If they got them new from an authorized dealer, I would just send it back for a new one.
If not, then I had a radio like that once. I had to torque the pin of the programming cable sideways while I was read/writing to it. I figured that the solder on that plug had broke after many years of abuse. By torquing it sideways, it was able to make connection on the pc board inside the radio, just enough for me to get it programmed.
Hey, I bought it for $20 at Dayton hamfest one year, and that was the only thing wrong with it.

I've seen a couple of 3061s that you have to press the button above the PTT and P0 and turn the radio on to get into Dealer mode to read and write to the radio. Give that a try.
