Hi. After several years of use, my IC-R20 quit receiving signals. All other functions seem to be working. I'm wondering if I've poked the wrong button and am simply doing something stupid or is it time for repairs. Thanks for any help.

Need a little more information. Is it all bands, all modes, shortwave only, etc...

Some quick things to check:

Is the ATT on? (lower left corner).

Do you have the squelch cranked all the way up? (hold SQ button down, and rotate one of the knobs until you see auto/level1/level2 ...

How about the RF-gain? Is it set to max?

Also note to check your RF gain that it isn't on "Min" because then you will not hear anything unless the signal is very strong by you. also as others stated make sure that "ATT" is disabled as well. Set your squelch to Auto also. Do a reset on it but back it up first! To do a complete factory reset/erase turn off your Icom IC-R20 and then press and hold the VFO MHz and MR S.MW while pressing the power button until you see "ALL Reset".

Then punch in your local NOA weather station 162.475 or whichever is your local NOA frequencies.

See if the reset helped you and please post back on here and let us know how everything went.
