Hello all,

just got my Icom R6 (shocking how much higher the price is in Canada vs. the US...) - and downloaded the trial version of the ARC6 software.

When I look at the Search Editor ( Scan edges for scan) : it shows that for all scans the radio is using FM and 5kHz step (including SW, air bands etc). Is this a bug?

On a related note: where would I find the default step / receive mode settings for the various bands in the R6?

Is this something one can change? How?

Would anyone have a good starting point (maybe by sharing a save file for the ARC6 ) I could look at (I am in the Toronto area)?

Thank you for any pointers...

I'm going off memory here, but you should be able to manually go through all the step sizes and receive modes in VFO mode, using the keypad. Whether or not ARC6 software gives you all the options, I'm not sure. The R6 is a great little receiver, but whenever I needed to change something it was always RTFM.

Thank you. I have now changed everything manually.

I was just wondering if the default steps were buggy in the R6 - as the ARC6 showed all scan range frequencies as FM (including SW and FM radio bands).

The radio is very nice - and on SW (with its own antenna) it receives as good as my Degen 1103 SW receiver with a telescopic antenna which is at least 5x longer than the R6 stubby. Very impressive!

And the scan / search speed is super fast too...

I really like the radio as you can see :)
