What pre-made cable might be avaiable to convert the r75 externel speaker terminal(bare wire) to a 1/8" (3.5mm) connector. I thought about just cutting the ends off a rca y-adapter, but the wires are thin and messy(and impossible to solder to tin the ends). And those are TRS and the output of the r75 is TS(mono). Basically I'm looking for this 12-Ft. 24-Gauge Speaker Cable with 1/8" Plug - RadioShack.com but without the spade connectors and just bare wire that is tinned. I can't seem to find this kind of cable anywhere. I want to hook up a BCT15x(or BCD996XT) scanner and the R75 reciever to a icom sp-23 monitor speaker. This speaker takes 2x 1/8" inputs and accepts 4W maximum(I assume peak). Since the R75 output is most likely powered and not line level, would it still be okay to simply use a cable like the radio shack one(that links to a out-of-stock item) and connect it to a input like the one on the sp-23? I want to be able to monitor both, but use the record out jacks for connection to a behringer USB audio adapter on each of the recievers. So I need all the jacks, so I still need to use the terminal connector on the r75(the bearcat scanner already has 1/8 record and 1/8 ext speaker).
I want to set up a broadcast station(irc voiced or shoutcast maybe) for each reciever that users can send a command (such as /scanner-bot 153.002) to my "bot" on irc to change the channel when I'm not using the recievers(freq sent via rs232c). ( I am a c# programmer that has irc bot experience, but haven't decided how to implement the bot yet, such as who can change the frequency and how often it will be allowed to have the freq changed).
Any advise on cabling that would be required would be greatly recieved.
