Just was emailing with an Icom Canada rep.. He said they hope to have it in North America in June/July this year.

One unit just showed up on the same site I got mine...from Italy. Enjoying mine every minute I use it.

There is no way I would pay over $400 for a analog only receiver. The Uniden 160 is only $249 and it comes with DMR and NXDN. Doesn't trunk either like the R15.

I might, if the R15 provided superior airband performance above what my R30 already provides. Currently, nobody seems to know this.

As the thread starter, when someone gets some hard information about these radios being generally available, please send me a private message. Until then, I don't see much point in continuing the speculation.

Hey, just an FYI, in a moment of weakness and low self-control, I broke down and bought the IC-R15 from mhzoutdoor in Italy. Arrived here at my place in Canada today.

Nice little unit. Just charging it up overnight and will give it a go tomorrow. If you've got any specific questions, let me know. I'll put it through some paces in the next few days and make an initial impression post.
