• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Simply unactivate the follow ignition only function. I have my base radio in the house set this way, so the radio comes on, & off with the push of the power button. However in the car, I do use the follow ignition function, so my radio goes on, & off with the ignition key.

Yeah.. I would like to do that.. But since it's set that way, i cant start the radio to upload my new modified codeplug

With power applied to the radio and pin 25 of the accessory connector, it should power up. Did you save your codeplug? I could take a look.

So, you understand the functionality of pin 25. To restate, here is the relevant section from the TRBO CPS help

Options
Disable Ignition Off The radio powers on by following the ignition sense or power button. The radio will power off only by power button.
Follow Ignition Only The radio powers on or off by following the ignition sense on/off. The radio’s power button will be ignored.
On/Off Or Ignition The radio powers on or off by following either the power On/Off button or ignition sense.
TX Inhibit Activates the TX Inhibit feature when the radio senses that the ignition is off. The TX Inhibit feature prevents the radio from transmitting.

The only scenario that matches the behavior you are seeing is if there is a physical problem with pin 25, or the power getting to it. I have compared your images to an XPR accessory plug, and you are on the correct pin. Either you are not getting power to pin 25, or something is shorted or broken internally that is preventing the radio from reacting to pin 25.

What should happen is that as soon as you make pin 25 hot, the radio should turn on, and stay turned on until you remove power from pin 25.

I believe you have a damaged radio on your hands.
