Ditto for jefferson and surrounding. Lots of howling wind in East Ohio right now. AEP is out in droves, and the local TRS is pretty hammered at the moment.

We got lotsa power outages, seen a flying shed at Lowes turned into scrap metal and saw one boat get tipped over and another was already on its side. A comms tower came down on top of fowlers TV. landed on the building. They said we got some gusts over 70mph. Yards are a mess and they are saying not to drive after dark due to to many lines down. Seems to be settling down now here in W. Ohio. Hoser

I think you guys got hit more than us over in the east. When I looked yesterday, there wasn't supposed to be much of anything. It's very warm out, and for the most part it's pleasant (albeit muggy) outside - but when the gusts come, they are up there. I don't think I've seen anything 50 mph though. I'd say i've probably seen 35-40 mph thus far. In my area they are saying "up to 55 mph."

Nevertheless, quite a bit of downed lines, mostly due to trees breaking apart/blowing over. Haven't heard of anything major though here.

Yup, windy has heck here in Reynoldsburg. I lost most of this years tomato and pepper crop, so much for the home made salsa, and stewed tomatoes for chili :-(

Quite a few school closings in the Stark County area. I'm shocked that my house still has power, we're usually the first ones to go.

We had a couple of Tractortrailers tipped over by the wind, at I75 and US33. Reported 3 deaths in Ohio so far, one was a couple on a motorcycle at Hueston Woods state park that a tree fell on them.
Hopefully as OHIO MEMBERS get power on, they can check in thru this thread.............Hoser

Yesterday....

We must have been on the "edge" of the windy area here in SE Ohio. We had gusts of up 49 MPH here on our weather station at the 911 Center.

Had severall downed trees. No injuries reported. County garage workers called out to clear up the ones in the road.

Minor power outages due to trees falling into power lines....

Jackson County must have had harder wind gusts up their way. Their power went off around noon or so yesterday. Heard Post 40 say they were on generator & they had trouble getting their computers to reboot...

My scanner was cooking last night--lots of trees down on power lines, etc. Police and Fire were very busy.

We lost power for a few hours last night. I was just about to get the generator out this morning when it came back on.

Yard is a mess, but other than that, we came out just fine.

Had a chance to look around today after about a dozen loads of sticks and junk picked out of the yard. Man the farmers around here really took a major hit, the corn fields look like someone drove a truck around in them, it would be interesting to see from an aerial view. Sounds like no School tommarrow for the kids around Dayton and South. Lots of folks without power yet. Having trouble getting food and gas to the South as well, the places that were open on the news had massive lines. Guess that shows how prepared most of society really is, when McDonalds needs the Police there. Hoser
Edit: 0001hrs a County SO car was just advising that one town here still doesnt have power at this time, requested extra patrols people attempting to steal generators.
