The beat goes on:
According to a story this week in The Indiana (PA) Gazette, the county commissioners have authorized the Indiana County Emergency Management agency to replace 20 portable radios with new models enabled with encryption technology at a cost of $77,242.15 in a contract with Motorola.
“This would give the sheriff’s office a replacement of 20 radios that they currently have with 25 encryption-capable radios. Coordinating with Indiana Borough and IUP we would be able to encrypt all radios in the central police zone for all law enforcement agencies,” said ICEMA Executive Director Thomas Stutzman.
