Please delete that post -- so many reasons... But I'll just address the weather.

The event that kicked this off DID have Tornado Warnings in advance.

While I'm sorry she lost her son to the storm, I agree that this is just a "feel good" law to "protect" idiots who feel that it's government's job to protect people from themselves.

It's a worthless law. Who's to say these radios will be powered by AC with DC backup? If the DC (battery) dies, who's to say the battery will be replaced? I know, just like the smoke detectors change the batteries at the time change. Honestly, how many actually even do THAT?

I see a stupid case coming where the manufacturer of a home is sued after a fatality from a storm with one of these radios installed where the battery was not replaced by the owner. The idiot plaintiff would win $50 million; future homes would then have a warning posted at the reciever saying that the battery has to be replaced x times a year to assure proper operation.

Assume the radios come 'installed' in new homes. Assume they're turned on, even, so the homeowner doesn't have to.

The first time it goes off with a 'warning', probably 90% of those homeowners will 'turn off that damn noisy thing', with a sledgehammer if necessary, and it'll never be turned on again.

Part of the law makes it clear that the manufacturer and mobile home owner cannot be held liable for anything related to the radio.

i am quite sure. thay had her hole speech when she was in my town in the newspaper. she said she turned off her TV because of the thunder storm. I also have a Buddy that lives down that way. he even said there was no tornado warnings until after the event.

that area has been a hot spot to watch for the last 15 years or so. after the dopler radir was removed.

Your buddy was wrong, and the doppler radar was put back in several years ago. There were tornado warnings in effect for her storm.
