I tried that one already. Windows claims it can't find a suitable driver and I told it to look in the folder I extracted those files into. And it had to be a RAR file LOL

LOL the cable worked fine until WINDOWS did a UART update and somehow it lost the driver. God only knows where the disk is that came with the cable. I got too many of those little disks labeled "Driver" ok driver but for what? No big deal it's like a $20 cable.

Yeah I hate those discs... I try to write down what it goes to. They must mass market those cd's pre-printed like that!

UPdate: I bought what looks like the exact same cable off Ebay and it plugs in and loads drivers just fine even w/o the driver disk. I think they changed the chipset!

IOCrest and WIN 10

Nice - glad everything turned out well then

Really odd thing happened! I did the WIN 10 so called upgrade! The first cable which stopped working on WIN 7 now worked fine. The new cable had a error but downloaded a new driver and it also works fine now.

Really considering going back to WIN 7 Pro 64 bit, WIN 10 is just weird. It takes much longer to restart or to start and Edge just sucks. One website said it wasn't compatible with my software. LOL Not to mention an old game I play won't work in Win 10 but did in WIN 7.

I love 7 myself. I'm looking forward to 10 - once it has a service pack under it's belt.

MS must not like Norton or Symantec much. My Norton 360 was installed but not accessible under WIN 10. Had to use a Norton removal tool and reinstall because it wasn't even listed for uninstall under WIN 10. Like it wasn't even there, and clicking the ICON had no effect either.
