No actually. It was a case of the quote to add a few more simulcast sites was so outrageous that the city actually put a RFP out based on ISSI roaming. EFJ's proposal came back as such but most of the Irving subscribers are still Motorola but I believe future subscribers are going to shift to Viking due to them being half the cost of the Motorola subscribers. Part of the savings is also going into an ISSI IX at one of the big DFW DCs for interconnection with multiple systems in Texas.
And the same guy that came up with the idiotic idea of putting a site at the top of the Fred Hartman bridge. You haven't lived until you've visited that site. So many dangers, with the first being stepping out of your vehicle with cars flying by at 70 MPH about 2' from you. One agency has a complete 4.1 SZ site of abandoned Quantars up there still because it's not worth it to bring them down.
