I haven't heard any EMS dispatches on there in over a week. Did they drop this frequency for full time use?

Ok. I always listen with my portable from same location...made no antenna adjustments. Perhaps they decreased signal strength?

Nothing has changed at the County end. Sounded just fine 3m30s ago when Medic 43 got dispatched.

Ok. Probably just a coincidence at the times I was listening, there was nothing going on.

Still not hearing anything on 460.100 anymore. I really think they either went deprecated or lowered their power.

They’ve been between S5-S9 on the meter all day today in the truck, normal activity, sure sounds like full power. Something must be wrong with your receiver.

My receiver is picking up everything else just fine...nothing wrong with scanner. I will monitor that frequency only tonight on both my HAM and scanner, to see if I hear any activity.

It’s 100% a localized issue to your receiver. I’m picking them up as loud and clear as I always have I’m in Somerset county. There’s constant activity on it. Nobody changed the power and it certainly isn’t deprecated. Nobody else has reported issues so it must be a localized issue.

Exactly right. I noticed if I keep my scanner near the window, I pick them up. But, for some reason, it wont pick it up from the dresser anymore. Considering I live in an apt complex, could be anything causing interference. Moving the location of handheld solved the problem. Thanks again for confirming its use.

Does anyone know why many dispatches on this frequency do not indicate location or nature of the call? Many of the calls just say for example, "Medic 2 assignment" and then nothing else is heard. Is the actual location/nature of the call transmitted on a different frequency or is it just sent to them electronically?

All of the units dispatched by union county carry tablet computers powered by verizon wireless and all call information is sent over mobile data connection. The tones over the air are used just to alert them that they have an assignment. You will hear call details for some volunteer BLS units or when a unit has a malfunctioning tablet or is simply not connected to the server.
