Wow, seems crazy. Ch 1 has been used for years for all kind of reasons. IS 5 was always very busy. Suddenly they are concerned about what is coming over the channel. Ridiculous for sure.
I know EXACTLY who you’re talking about. That guy is a serious wanna-be looking to make a quick buck off someone else’s misery. It IS sad to see the way things are. We lost Ch-1 which is fine, we don’t need to hear all the personal names and info. There's a very popular platform making money off it locally live-streaming active scenes, accidents, in some cases suicidal people.
"Strictly hands off, publics (sic) right to record etc." Interesting. At present an active member on this site was arrested for photographing police/EMS activity IN AN OFFICIAL CAPACITY (no less)!. Speaking for myself, a VFD person in my town had a rant fit over my presence at an active scene..only when I flashed my creds to the PO he had sent over did Mr. VFD calm down. In an ideal world that which you say has some merit..but this is less than an ideal world. Argue with a PO or a Trooper over the "public's right to record" and you'll end up at the local GA Court explaining to the Asst. State's Attorney handling the daily bucket why you should receive a nolle prosequi. Not anymore.

Sadly common sense and decency is out the window now. People want to sit on their couches and watch the worst things go down. Every one of those clicks and shares gets monetized. It's not like buffing of years past and it's helped destroy our hobby.
If it wasn't a money issue, 093 would've followed suit of most of the departments down the 95 corridor already.
I don't know your actual situation but, I will tell you, it's hands off. Most departments have gone as far as including it in their general orders, the threshold for Interfering etc is very high. The publics right to record is also codified in state statute (I believe in 2012) and numerous Federal Court rulings, a lot has changed since East Haven decided to arrest that priest. New Havens threshold is very high, and i know many officers personally."Strictly hands off, publics (sic) right to record etc." Interesting. omg! I thought John Mongillo passed on years ago! He's the person who is alleged to have hidden beneath a stretcher in a Flanagan Ambulance in order to get up to the West Rock scene of the DeLieto murder and get the crime scene/photo scoop.I know EXACTLY who you’re talking about. But CH-2, 3 would be a big loss, from a listening standpoint. Let’s stay tuned.
Some things never change in that regard (there are cops out there (that) who do what they want), especially with CSP. As far as NHPD is concerned, having represented a number of officers before the Board of Police Commissioners...if the Brass wants to "get" you...they will.I don't know your actual situation but, I will tell you, it's hands off. East Havens policy is here, most departments are similar. Adobe Acrobat
As far as troopers, they generally operate by their own rules, and get away with it.
With that said, there is a separate law concerning recording of active scenes by first responders.
Either way, I don't doubt there are cops out there that do what they want.
I'm guessing this one, but I'm sure there is moreIncidentally, who is this person? " That guy is a serious wanna-be looking to make a quick buck off someone else’s misery." I asked around today and drew a blank.
A true wannabe if I've ever seen one. It's just a matter of time before he gets nailed for one thing or another.I'm guessing this one, but I'm sure there is more

Hmmmm. I stay away from "social" networking sites, to wit such as Facebook, Tick Tock, etc. ad nauseum. But, I'm going to look into the groups you've identified. Bottom line, sooner or later (probably sooner) all agencies will go full "E".That's the main one in the New Haven area. There's another in the Bridgeport area (one of the reasons that the media radios were eliminated there). There's also a few scanner groups on Facebook, one in particular puts out literally anything they here on the radio. In particular EMS, medical, EDP information. I believe primarily in the Wallingford/Meriden area. Those are the 3 main ones locally. The scanner "group" on Facebook in particular in my opinion should be shut down. It's so far over the line it's sickening.
There are so many issues surrounding that guy, it’s not even funny. He has a white charger, I believe, all done up to look like a cruiser, complete with ghost writing. He has no formal media training. He has no filters, he broadcasts everything. I mean EVERYTHING. A person got hit by a car in New Haven, he showed the victim still on the ground before cops/EMS/FD got there. Active scenes and he broadcasts everything putting everyone at risk.I'm guessing this one, but I'm sure there is more
