Hello all. I have a Uniden BCD536HP with a Radio Shack RS-800 antenna setup in my man cave. My reception is Ok at best due to ,what I believe, is the the fact that my house is constructed with foil backed insulation. I'm looking for a cheap option here. I saw the Maxx-Tenna on ebay. I did some reseach online about it but found very little. One guy claimed he opened the PVC tube and discovered a rubber ducky! I dont want to pay 50 bucks for that. Anybody have some hands on experience with this product?

I have 2; bought the 2nd about a year or two after I bought the 1st. I didn’t really need the second one but I figured I could use it at another location I travel with my scanner. I haven't bothered to open the PVC but I noticed an improvement in reception. It could be the antenna itself or it could be I was able to move the antenna to a better location (because of the RG6) while leaving the scanner in its original location.

The antennas appear to be built exactly the same but I think the hardware that came with the 1st antenna was better than the 2nd. I.e. the connectors, etc.

I received the antenna and all its hardware promptly from seller and didn't experience any troubles/delays during the sale.
