Sentinel: Is there any way to prevent the scanner from loading unwanted states when using the zip-code load process?

Living is Southern California, if I were to use the zip code way of listening and with how the ranges are set in the database I would be listening to four counties even if the range was set to 0.
The best advice I can give you is to learn to do favorite lists with a software program to reduce to only what you want to listen to and not everything in a multi state area.
The other option would be to edit each listing in the database for the areas they cover and not the world, massive amount of work.

Which can be done, but is fraught with errors doing so. And that could lead to bigger problems.

The scanner was designed to receive "stuff" having a coverage footprint within X miles (Range Setting) of the scanner's location. The designers thought that if a user wanted to be more specific, then Favorites List is the way to go.

I was thinking I will program Balt-city on a separate Service Type as I want an easy method of turning it on/off.
You can have a separate favorites list for Baltimore City. You just set the FL quick key to whatever you want and then press the quick key number followed by E on the scanner keypad to toggle it on and off. Here is a hpe favorites list file for Baltimore City. Save the attached zipped file to your computer and extract. Using Sentinel, go to the File tab and click on Import from hpe file (Favorties List). Click on New Favorites List and name it BaltimoreCity MD Click on OK. In the Downloads folder, open the extracted file. It will appear as a favorites list in Sentinel. You can also import the file using ProScan.
