• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have attempted to program the Connecticut land mobile radio network multiple times into my unication g5 the specific sites I have programmed into the g5 are the Bridgeport Simulcast and the Troop G simulcast according to radio reference where I live the g5 should be picking up both simulcasts as I live well within the range of both of them. I programmed them the same way as I did with other p25 systems I have programmed on the g5 Using Rdio Reference to Import them. both sites are saying out of range once I program it to my g5 My question is are these sites down or is the information on radio reference wrong that is being imported over to the programming software for the g5 as this is the only system that is giving me this issues.

are you getting out of range? If not only enter one site for the system. It might be affiliating on a site without traffic

Assuming you are in range, do you have all the control channels programmed in? Are you sure the TGs aren't encrypted?

Trp G is working fine

no encrypted talk groups were added when i programed the system below are the maps of both systems I am in the Brewster/Danbury area you can see from the maps I am well within the range of both

Well RR is correct and the sites are up, you can hear them on the calls platform, you might try another site and see what happens

I’d say it is one of the following. Eliminate each to the best of your abilities:

1) the info used to program is incorrect.
2) the info used to program has changed since published.
3) mistakes were made programming.
4) pager is out of range of transmitters.
5) pager/antenna is defective.

Well i can rule out number 5 as i can here the putnam county p25 system perfectly I don't know if i can rule out number 1,2 or 3 as I am getting the information directly from radio reference and that might have changed without radio reference updating it. according to the maps on radio reference number 4 could be ruled out as i am well within range

make sure WACN and SYS Id are correct
everything that was programed for this system was imported form radio reference all my other p25 systems on the pager work and were imported in the same way so would that be something incorrect on the rr website that is being carried over to the programing software?

I would enter the wildcard "FFFF" for the WACN, System, RFSS, and Site IDs. I'd also remove all of the frequencies except for the two sites you are interested in. You may also need to add the frequencies that are listed in black in the RRDB if only the red ones were imported. See if you have any luck with that, and go from there.

I only had one site programmed in the g5 when it did not work I deleted the system site off the g5 and programmed the other site with no luck I also made sure all frequencies for the sites were programmed into the g5
