Wow, it's been a while. What do the fire agencies do when there isn't a recycle center on fire?

All kidding aside, that's quite a lot of resources assigned.

They've been fighting governments and departments about the swarm of cancer deaths in firefighters that have shown up recently.
It's been rather a cool year so far. No 110º F days yet.

That fire made three alarms.

Sure!

Phoenix Fire maintains a public information site for some [but not all] calls like traffic accidents, drownings, house fires, commercial fires, or exceptional incidents. We here often call it the 'Big Board'. It can be accessed at following web address:

E stands for EngIne
L for Ladder Truck
BC is for Battalion Chief
DR is for Drone
BR is for Brush Truck
U is for Utility Truck
HR is Heavy Rescue
RM is Resource Management
N/S/W/EDC is for North/South/West or East District / Deputy Chief
RH is a Rehabilitation Vehicle
CRV is a Crisis Response Vehicle
C957N, C957S, etc. is a specialized command vehicle that has specialized training in technical rescue, HazMat, etc.
HM is for HazMat
FI is for Fire Investigator
Other units like PHXPD is Phoenix PD, SRP is Salt River Project, SWG is Southwest Gas, APS is Arizona Public Service, RP000 is for responsible party such as the property owner, security guard, manager, etc.

I learned it the hard way since I worked in a local LE agency and saw many of the abbreviations that FD used.

Actually, a rescue is a fire department operated ambulance staffed by two firefighters. All firefighters in Arizona must be at least EMT qualified, and many are paramedic qualified. (R30, R191, etc.)

A medic unit is a fire department operated ambulance staffed with two personnel who are EMS only, they are not trained as firefighters. (M131, M301, etc.)

I'm not sure if the staffing is one EMT and one paramedic, two EMT's, or two paramedics. There may be a mix.

M-151 would indicate a Maricopa Ambulance unit, in this case assigned to the City of Glendale. (Fire department medic units do not have the - between the M and the number. Maricopa Ambulance units do have a - between the M and the number.)

One correction...

CRV is Command Response Vehicle

Not every city has its own ambo service. Some are still contract. Some cities also do not adhere 100 percent to Phoenix FD practices and or standards.

John is correct here. In both the Phoenix and Mesa system, all rescues are fire department operated and staffed with two firefighters. Medic units are fire department operated and staffed with nonsworn EMS civilians. All private ambulance companies have the "-" in their unit designator (W-171, M-181, P-192, L-4101, AM-571, etc). The symbols next to the unit designator are what defines what level of EMS staffing is on board. A plus sign indicates ALS staffing (at least two paramedics), a minus sign indicates PLS staffing (one paramedic), and nothing next to the unit will indicate that it is either BLS or NLS. ANY unit on the public webpage will follow the above.
