Does anyone have a formula or know of a calculator that includes the variable K or element diameter for J Pole construction? I've only found formulas that use velocity factor. But I believe, I once read, K should be a ratio of radius or diameter to Wavelength, or maybe length of element?

An older thread...I know, but still may be useful to others. I've built several of these for HF using ladderline and they work very well. The real trick is to find the correct velocity factor for the LL, as these are not as easy to retune. It's nice to nail it the first time. I finally sprung for an old school grid dip meter and it helped. I build the Slim Jim version using this online calculator and they tune up nicely on my nanoVNA...Slim Jim and J Pole calculator (American Version) – M0UKD – Amateur Radio Blog
