What are you using for control channels on the other sites?

Found my issue. Didn't realize with the switch many of the id's were not tagged in my scanner and I was ID Scanning instead of searching. Once I started searching then I started hearing them.

See if the conversion chart I attached to post 10 helps.

Before they migrated the P25 system with the additional site, there was a Site in the DB "Beaumont". I noticed a while back it was removed and then there was one named Vidor. Are they the same sites and just renamed it? Just curious what site was being used for the City of Beaumont area. I do realize with this new update the Analog Beaumont site is now covering the Beaumont area.

That site that was labeled "Beaumont" was mislabeled It was the Vidor site all along. The Beaumont site for the p25 was made out of the frequencies from the analog site.

Thanks for the update. Glad to see its all combined into one system now and can monitor everything in one system instead of three

Has anyone been experiencing anything weird with the new P25 system? The issue I've been experiencing with my BCD436HP is it's not always able to see / pickup the control channel on the new P25 system. The problem seems greatly exaggerated on the Beaumont site but the others somewhat experience this problem.

Funny thing is, I've been listening to the Hardin County P25 site (Silsbee) for quite some time with zero issues at all. Seems the problems started to surface as they migrated the remaining municipalities this past week.

I am having trouble receiving the Beaumont and Vidor Sites, very week reception. I can pick up the Orange Site with no issues. Strong Signal. Before the changes I was able to pick those two up with no issues. Since I am not able to pick them up as good I was hoping Beaumont City and Jefferson County SO would be on the Orange Site now they are on the same system, however that is not happening. The only traffic out of Beaumont I hear on the Orange Site is Beaumont Fire/EMS - Fire/Rescue 1 Dispatch

Yes, I think because they are in the middle of moving everything from the old system there is some weirdness going on. I'm using UniTrunker v2 and two RTL-SDR dongles instead of a traditional scanner, but I have 774.44375 (Port Arthur repeater) and 773.28125 (Vidor repeater) as my control channels and I'm getting quite a bit more traffic than late last week. I can pick up Acadian EMS, Port Arthur PD and FD, Beaumont FD, Bridge City PD and FD, Vidor FD, and some Hardin County stuff (Lumberton EMS, Silsbee PD). I think they did something different with Jefferson County SO - I can't find them anywhere. Maybe they've moved them to TXWARN but I'm not picking up anything on that control channel either (769.19375 or 770.94375).

I've lost Central too which is Groves, Nederland, Port Neches PD and FD - maybe they just haven't completed the move yet. Another issue I've noticed is that on the old system it didn't matter which control channel/repeater you used. Since it was multicast on all repeaters you just pick the control closest to you and you got them all. With the new system, I can get some multicast on the Vidor and Port Arthur repeaters (Port Arthur Fire for example), but some talk groups are only on one or the other. Maybe once the move is complete it will all work like the old system did.

Is it possible that JCSO and BPD are utilizing encryption? Does someone have Unitrunker, Pro96com, DSD+, etc?

I have UniTrunker v2 - I think that even if it were encrypted I would see the traffic, I just wouldn't hear anything. But I'm not seeing anything related to their talkgroups or "unidentified" traffic so far.

UPDATE - 11/18/20 -

Well, it appears that now Central (Nederland, Groves, Port Neches), Beaumont PD, and Jefferson County SO are now up on the new system this morning. Using control channel 858.7375. Using DSD+ it appears the new system is P25 Phase 1, not Phase 2.

As this is a Motorola system it is most likely Phase II. However, the subscriber units (radios) may only be Phase I unless they're newer. Remember, if any single radio on the talkgroup is Phase I then the TG will be Phase I. You won't see Phase II (TDMA) TGs until every single radio on the group is Phase II.
