JBMDL officially comes on line October 1. Major changes to the radio systems are not expected to occur immediately with exception to Lakehurst, where all base support functions will go onto the 380 mhz TRS by the end of the year. The database has been updated with the TGs, it looks like it will be all encrypted. Their consolidated dispatch center will remain in place for now. McGuire and Dix will consolidate their public safety dispatch centers, rumor is that new TGs will be set up for security/police. On the fire side, the Dix TG's on the BurlCo TRS will be patched with the McGuire TG's on the Air Force system. Their hoping that Motorola comes out with their new multi band portables and mobiles that cover 380-512 mhz soon so they don't have to carry 2 radios. The 380 system for McGuire/Dix will be constructed sometime in 2010, a new tower was installed on Dix. An existing tower on the Dix ranges will also be changed to 380. The tower on McGuire will eventually come off line. Once this is all done it will be a 3 site SmartZone system to cover the Joint Base. One of the reasons for not doing work early is that most of the funding will not be available until after October 1.

The McGuire/Dix district police/security forces are now being dispatched from the Dix dispatch center, their TG's have been patched together. Look for fire to move over to McGuire dispatch by the end of the month.

Lakehurst PD is now using the TRS, TG 65010, which was identified earlier as the Command TG, this may change again. They are in the clear. Getting some hits on the Crash TG, that's encrypted.

Updates submitted to the DB: Lakehurst: TG 65020 is Fire Command (no longer patched to 140.05), 65021 is Fire Operations, 65005 is Fire Alternate. On the McGuire system: TG 4112 is a patch to the Lakehurst PD, 4176 is a patch to Lakehurst Fire Command. look for Fort Dix Fire to be dispatched by McGuire Fire by the end of March, TG's will remain the same.

Dix District Fire now being dispatched by McGuire Fire on TG 23760 on the BurlCo trunked system, TG 1744 on the Dix/McGuire System. This is simulcast on 141.200. McGuire Fire is now patched into TG 23824 on the BurlCo trunked system. Both of the county TG's are normally only active on the NorthEast zone.

Over the last several months I've been picking up numerous new TG's on the McGuire/Ft.Dix system as well as the FCI Ft.Dix system. They appear steadily. I've been running these for months to make sure they are not images or bleedover. If anyone can ID any of these it would be appreciated.

McGuire/Ft.Dix: 464- Hotel guest services/maids?
1264
2608
2896
3792
3856-training?
3984

FCI Ft.Dix: 80
144-referred to as Tactical Ch.10
160-visitation?
176
240
256

464 is Billeting Services, 1264 is Air Expeditionary Center 2, 2608 is 108ARW Maint 2, 2896 is Fire Sta 1 Paging and Alerting. The TGs in the 3000 series are new ones, I'll have to listen and figure out what they are.The FCI TGs are not new ones. Unfortunately they only refer to them as channels, and their staff won't give out any info as to what the channels are used for.

Thanks. A couple of the FCI ones sound like grounds & maintenance, prisoner transfers, much like the existing ones.

Ok, I zeroed in a little on the FCI Ft.Dix system and found the following:

64- is Channel 1 Security
32- is Channel 2 Operations
80- is Channel 9 T/A
144- is Channel 10 T/A

Alot of the users are saying "go to Channel 9 (or 10) then continuing their conversations, so these must be new talk-around channels.

Motorola (surprise!) has been awarded the contract to construct the final phase of the 380 MHz system. This will include the installation of the repeaters at the Fort Dix main post tower site (already constructed) and the upgrading of the Dix Range 59C and Lakehurst sites to Smart Zone capability. The final system will be 3 site, digital, and more than likely encrypted. This final phase will take place late this year.

I just tuned in to Lakehurst's system and I picked up a new talkgroup of 64833 I believe a unit called as "medic" but i'm not 100% sure since the signal is not all that strong here. any ideas what this is? seems like its not a lakehurst talkgroup since all theirs are in the 65xxx range. radio IDs used are in the 90xx and 91xx range.

Edit: one unit just called as "medic 5"

Possible. MONOC began training new civilian base EMS personnel today.

MONOC is providing the EMT CEU classes, will not be providing the EMS service. The 2 ambulances at the Lakehurst district are Med 1 and 2. This could be related to the Eagle Flag training, the units participating sometimes staff a BLS unit.
