Purchased the Uniden.com Ciber Monday deal for a SDS100. What keys should I purchase to better cover for Volusia County, if any at all?

Volusia is about to convert from their analog EDACS system to a new P25 Phase 2 trunking system.

There has been no reported use of Provoice on their system in YEARS. I would not buy that upgrade for Volusia.

Your radio will work fine on the new system, depending on what is encrypted.

There is some DMR activity in the area, including Local Businesses and Schools/Universities. Most are encrypted, but some are still in the clear.

There is also the Florida FleetTalk NXDN system, which has clear activity on the Daytona Beach site. Local businesses operate on that system, too.

Finally, There is some ProVoice Active on the County EDACS system daily. Unfortunately, it is all encrypted, so I'd say that is a moot point.

not to divert the thread, but what groups (if you know) are active on the Volusia EDACS system in encrypted PV?

It’s Florida, so very likely.
I can honestly see Volusia being unencrypted, especially with their history of being on Live PD/On Patrol Live (and Daytona Beach PD being on the latter too). For one, I think that they would have gone that route by now if they were thinking about it, especially with the P25 system already being there.

Also, not all agencies (or even counties) in Florida encrypt. The Tampa Bay area (sans Pasco) is wide open.
