K-Deck Question

Dose anyone know what sites K10, 11 & 12 are carried on? Like being carried on the Simulcast sites only as apposed to the High Sites?? The reason I'm asking is at times I lock on one of the Major Incident TGs on dispatch bur haven't been hearing anything when I'm locked on using White Tanks for example. I'm thinking it depends what sites the radios are associated with. Anyway, I'm working on changing my Analog mind to Digital.

White Tanks and Thompson Peak only carry K-2.

Towers Mtn carries K-1 and K-6.

Someone else mentioned that he can only hear K-1 on Sacaton Peak.

North Mtn and South Mtn don't appear to carry any of them. The Sky Harbor IR only carries Sky Harbor TG's.

I don't know for sure about Far North Mtn (Mt Gillen) or the Anthem/New River simulcast. I couldn't get anything off either of them with my PSR-500 about a month ago. I haven't been up there with my SDS-100 yet.

You have to be listening to Simulcast B/C/F/G/H/J to hear any of the other K-decks.

Several High sites used to carry all of them, I used to hear them on White Tanks up until some years ago, but this is how the techs have set it up now.

I currently have Simulcast G & White Tanks as my sites. Earlier tonight I did copy K8 off of G but nothing else. I have been copying K2 off White Tanks & K1 is spotty off of G. Perhaps I'll just program Simulcast B as the only site and see what happens.

Today, I heard K6 and K9 on Simulcast G.
I heard K7 on Simulcast B, but not on Simulcast G.
I don't think I heard any calls on K8 at all.

I also heard K10 and K12 on Simulcast G, both calls being in the Maryvale/Estrella Mtn area of Phoenix. However, K11 was only on Simulcast B for a call in Tempe.

I wasn't listening to Simulcasts C/F/H/J.

So, if you're able to hear Simulcast B, that is your best bet for following all the calls, if that's what you want to do.
Conversely, if you only want to hear calls closer to where you're at, then pick the local Simulcast (C, F, G, H, or J), and not Simulcast B.

Thanks!! I can get both Simulcast A & B (But if I remember that share sites), G . Of the High Sites I get White Tanks, Towers Mtn, N Mtn, Far N Mtn, Thompson Pk and of course S Mtn.

I'm having much better reception of the TGs with two systems set up in my 536HP. One with the Simulcast Sites and one with the high sites. Same groups in each. I'll keep playing with the setups and see what else I come up with.
