The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives intends to negotiate a sole source award with Communications Associates (CA) of Springfield, MO for 700-800 MHz mobile and portable radios. CA is the singular source authorized by M/A COM to sell a compatible radio for the M/A COM network owned and operated by the Kansas City Police Department in the Kansas City market. Additionally, these radios will be programmed and serviced by Kansas City Police Department Personnel and must have a configuration identical to those currently in their inventory to ensure proper functionality and operation. ATF requires these radios to support inoperability between agents and local law enforcement officers working together on joint task forces.
