If you can't hear them they most likely re-banded their 860 freqs down 15mhz.

Do you still hear a control channel on the 868mhz frequencies ?

Looking at their license i see a lot of 806mhz/823mhz channels licensed for mobiles and 821/853mhz channels
licensed for base.

Thanks for the reply,
I hear nothing now except maybe a click once and a while. or at least I think its a click as the scanner will stop for a second on a police channel then move on. I have just ordered a digital scanner so I'll be finding out real soon if they moved.

I'll keep everyone following this thread posted..

Thanks again,
MAX

Max, you might also check the Radio Monitoring Hawaii Yahoo group (as mentioned in a past message) to see if there's more information.

You don't need a digital trunker just because Kauai might have moved. If it was previously an EDACS system, simply subtract 15 mhz from the old frequencies and start looking. 73 Mike

Wouldn't a search have found the new feqs? I have a RS PRO-97 and have been searching the 800 mhz for the them.

Possibly. I doubt that they would reallocate their system wholesale, however. Do the math; if none of the adjusted freqs have a really horrible sounding data stream on them, you can assume that Kauai has not yet rebanded.

On second thought - didn't I read somewhere that they were moving from a LTR system to a P25? If they weren't on 800 before, save yourself some grief - use the FCC search tools in the database. Again, far simpler than just doing random searches

Well it seems that as of 11/9/2008, the Pro-96/Pro-2096 scanner will work, how it will work is beyond me, I'm waiting for RADIO AH7E HAWAII to release a "downloadable file so that you can program your radio hassle-free". More info can be found here -> http://www.qsl.net/ah7e/kctrunk.html

When I went to Kaua'i earlier this year, I had programmed my trusty PSR500 up with the local TRS (Motorola) with the talkgroups in a VFolder. So I thought. When I got there I realized that I had NOT stored the system in the VFolder afterall. Being the small island that it is, I set the scanner in search mode to cover the 800 mhz band. I found 2 control channels. One I never got a talkgroup hit on the entire time I was there, and the other was the missing TRS that I had thought I programmed. I programmed the system as a TSYS into the scanner and within a couple minutes I was up and running. Since there were only 4 or 5 talkgroups used, programming them in after searching a while was no problem at all.

Well,
I have a PRO 2096 now and programmed it using WIN96 and downloading the channels from within the program using radioreference.com but I was unable to pick up any anything. Do you know of a place where there I can find info on how to program the scanner thats simple to understand? I understand what talk groups are but have no idea what TSYS or TRS is....
