• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

My only complaint with this guy is he ONLY accepts Paypal. He wont take a Postal MO, or a bank draft, or even cash. I refuse to use Paypal due to their anti gun policies. Of course it's his right to do so, but lots of other vendors who list Paypal as the form of payment will accept MO's. GARY N4KVE

I've had no issues with aftermarket cables. I've gotten a few different types from a few different suppliers (whoever was cheapest at the time) and I'm inclined to believe that they're all (or mostly) manufactured by the same company - just different people or companies selling the same product.

But if you can afford an OEM cable, that's the route to go.

I've had no issues with his stuff. He has always answered my emails very quickly when I did have to return something. Cables and RIB I have have always worked fine.

I've got most all the cables for Motherola equipment, and only 1 of them is Motherola - and it is the one that the pins broke in (MTS/MTX)! My Kawamall stuff hasn't missed a beat in the years I have been using them. And my bank account is happier, too!

Try living a couple miles away from him and you can't pick your product up!

I have most of my cables from Kawa. They work fine and unless you are realigning the radio, they work fine for just reading a code plug and writing one. I program motorola radios for business and public safety and use mostly kawa cable. Lets face it, untill motorola comes down on the price of there cables,Kawa is the way to go. Thats my experience. Hope it helped

Kawa offers this cable for a bunch of radios:
GMCT_GG.jpg

They state in the ad that it will do the GM300 series and the CDM series of radios plus a bunch more. The GM's all have an 8 pin mic connector while the CDM's all have 10 pin mic connectors.

First question: Will the cable really work in the CDM's and if so, how do you position it in the 10 pin female?

Second question: Is anyone successfully using this cable to program CDM's from Win 7 Home Premium edition 64 bit with CPS 06.12.02?
