I've been listening to Trooper traffic on the Peninsula for a couple of months and I've noticed that at some time during the afternoon or evening, all traffic stops. I don't get any more hits until the next morning. It's now 10:14 pm and I haven't heard a peep from them since 7:13 pm. Up until then they were going non stop. Over 800 hits in 10 hrs. then nothing! Any ideas what they might be doing or how I can search them out? I don't think they can be closing shop on a Saturday evening and letting the bad guys run amok.

Thanks
Roy

Are you monitoring only one particular talkgroup or in scan mode?

It's possible that at nights and weekends, they switch dispatching functions to another post. I know that's what they do here in the Fairbanks/Delta area. They switch to a different or patched talkgroup and Fairbanks takes over the Delta area dispatching. Just a thought.....

I'm scanning. That could be the case. I do here some activity from the Anchorage area going through the Soldotna dispatcher. Maybe I'll hunt for some more talk groups from the Data Base.for the Anchorage area. Could it be they switch to a different repeater that I can't hear from Seward.

I have had the same issues, some areas/times will be great, other times I don't get anything. I assumed it was my scanner. FYI-Kenai Peninsula Troopers don't switch to another dispatch center, they are 24/7.
