• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the amateur radio section as I'm using a commercial radio, however, it's being used on an amateur network. The network in question here is the NI4CE network here in Florida. I've had my NX 5000 and have been using it on the NI4CE network now for about two years. As of recently I've been having issues while scanning. What's happening is while scanning, the radio is picking up carrier on the repeater, however, looking at the screen, the wrong talk group is being displayed and the speaker is not unmuting. I've experienced this issue both with and without a priority channel selected.

Example:
Another radio on the network transmits into "repeater site 1" on TG 1201, my radio is scanning and picks up carrier on my repeater "repeater site 2," scan pauses and the screen shows "repeater site 2 TG 1" and the speaker does not unmute. TG 1 is the talk group for the single repeater and is not networked. TG 1 is also in my scan list and therefore the speaker should unmute if were actually traffic on that talk group. Occasionally everything will exactly as it should, however, the majority of the time the above condition is occurring and with all groups, not just "1201." It would appear as though the network is frequently misrouting calls and dropping (voice?) data, and that there is no issue with the radio, however, I'm not 100% certain. Furthermore, there appears to be issues with dropped calls as even with scan off and the radio set to the correct TG I'm expecting to receive a call on, I'm never receiving ~10% of calls and vice versus.

Notes:
> The code plug being used worked as advertised in the past.
> I have gone through this plug with a fine toothed comb and verified multiple times that all talk groups are programmed, named, and assigned correctly

Any help on resolving this would be much appreciated.
