Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Question - this is for an FD station.

We've got our station radio which is the Kenwood TK-5720. It's powered off of a Duracomm LPX 18. It runs to a Bogan amplifier which sends audio to 4 speakers - 3 in bedrooms and 1 in day room.

We are trying to figure out how to add our low voltage lights so they go on when we get toned out. Our radio is on two-tone and opens the channel when we get tones from dispatch for three minutes. We'd like the lights to turn on for three minutes when the channel opens and click off after three minutes when the channel closes. These lights are installed in the bedrooms. We have not set them to a power source or any relay yet because we're not sure what we need.

This is a new set up for us and we're at a standstill on how to wire this in as described. Any direction as far as additional adapters, software, or anything is appreciated.

So, I am trying to figure out something similar. I need a radio to trigger a relay when the radio alerts for 2 minutes and go back off when the radio resets.
What I am triggering is just a normal 12v relay.
I am unfamiliar with how the horn relay works exactly.
