Keypad Stopped Working

I have two Uniden SDS 200 scanners. On one, the numerical keypad and the 3 sofkeys just randomly stopped working. Even when I connected a micro USB cable, pressing the E key when prompted to enter usb mass storage mode had no effect and it timed out returning to scanning. I was forced to do a full memory clear by holding the 2, 9, and center softkey while turning the scanner on and the keypad did respond while doing this. The keypad did then begin working and I was able to enter usb mass storage mode a rewrite my favorites list. However after a day, the keypad had now stopped working again. Any ideas?

Replace the SD card. Bad SD cards cause the majority of problems. It should be replaced first to eliminate that as the cause.

Although it seems to be unrelated to the SD card, tvenger is absolutely correct in that any abnormal operation of the SDS series, the first thing to look at is the SD card. These radios have done really weird things when the SD card gets corrupted--- things which at first would not seem to be related to the SD card. Good luck and please keep us posted.
