The next three days will give you a good feel for the upcoming summer...predicted highs per Skilling: 75 Thursday, 85 Friday and Saturday. Could you imagine the "olympians" wandering into some of our illustrious neighborhoods for a taste of "ethnic cuisine", then ending up caught up in the cross fire on a hot summer night in 2016? Numerous aggravated batteries are not even worth a mention, unless their's a death. I don't think they'll be too many quiet zones this weekend...will be some wild listening as the city is up for grabs.

Don't have to wait till the weekend

70th Sangamon, shots fired into a vehicle...male 25 years old, shot in the back of the head, he's heading to Chalkie-land... 110th Michigan, 18 year old male shot multiple times, heading to Christ Hospital. 79th King Drive, 35 year old male, shot in the right cheek area, heading to Christ hospital, and I think Chalkie is driving the ambulance. all within the last half hour.

Chalkie is going to have to start recruiting assistants soon... I'm not sure how he travels but he seems to be covering a lot of ground quickly.

Thanks for the updates werinshades. We should have another couple of interesting days ahead as it gets warmer. Tomorrow is sunny, high of 79 with a 50% chance of a Chalkie cameo up north or near the beach.

5 injured in separate shootings around city - Chicago Breaking News

At least 5 more shot overnight, however SCC blog reporting not all have been reported. Just caught another one at 124th Parnell....19 year old male, shot in the head behind the left ear, but was walking and talking. Some mention is he might be an offender in shots fired just prior, based upon witness accounts. Some of this sh** you just can't make up. This is why it pays to stay on a Zone for awhile after a major incident, you never know what you'll here. Zone scanning today is paying off today...

Here's how it all starts

3 charged in slaying of gangster-turned-developer - Chicago Breaking News

Why most of you just scan this story, this is how the bloodshed starts. High-ranking gang banger gunned down it what appears to be a normal daily activity...selling an apartment. You can bet your bottom dollar, every gang enforcement unit in the city and burbs (yes, the burbs too) are going to be watching the infrastructure of the gang (Conservative Vice Lords) in their neighborhood. How is this scanner related you ask...? Keep your ears to all your secret squirrel frequencies of your favorite gang units, of well known CVL areas over the next year. Their will be shootings to move up the chain, and possibly take over the grand poobaa of the gang. Could this have been another gang taking out the highest ranking member...could very well be, but only time will tell. Yes, this happened on the west side of Chicago, but as many of you know, this expands all over the area. Stay tuned...

Yea, chaike is back. Amazing, realistically my town has form a new gang tac unit that conist of two teams, as they called themselves the A team and the B team its a running joke. But latily in the western burbs is having their increase in shootings, fights, drive by's in what was a quiet town for the most part is not so much anymore. The neighberhood has been changing and its very apperent, not to mention the need for service calls has neraily doubled. Stuff that was un heard has been happening in moderatily warm weather, I hate to see what happens in 80 degree wather. Its too bad the city I live in can not support the formation of a another tac team unit. Over all they have been quite effective and are not affrid to utilize some small stuff to get them in the doors. Hopefully, another team will be formed to squash some more stuff and be active on the street. Dual fuctionally seems to be the besst apporach these days, gang /rapid free car response to in progrees calls. I have some other ideas for the local pd's gang unit to use, but their only suggestions. So, I'll sit back and watch it play out and stay out of MR. Chakies way for now anyway.

Chalkie has no boundaries. I read the Daily Herald on line daily, and the city crime has wandered past the city borders into the north and northwest suburbs. Glad your town has formed a response to the problems, but they can't be everywhere as evident in Chicago.

Joliet has a great PD, and I'm glad for it. They're getting busier already, directly weather related IMO. I believe from what I hear, but can't say for sure, that they've added cars in 3West. We really only had 2+ Cover most of the time in the last year or 2 and now it seems to be more often 3 or 4 + cover. Overtime calls are going out more lately it seems too.

In 3West, they still get a lot of full cross zone dispatches, which has to be hurting response times (big geographic area)

Thanks, JPD. We're going to need your best efforts.

New weather related defense tactic:

I can hear it already from the Court appointed. Yer honor, the defendants criminal acts are due to Global Warming, I motion to dismiss.

And yet it occur last night, another gang fight this time with four subjects. 1 transported to the hospital, and three of them with gang affliations. Oh, I love it, my city is becoming stactics on the board.
