I hear the Kingston police are using a mobile repeater system in each of thier cars now. when I have seen them around they now have 4 ants on thier cars. 1 for mdt's, one for vhf and the other 2 ants are side by side on the roof about 3 feet apart and look to be about a 1/4 wave vhf style.

Isn't one of those antennas UHF? Last Kingston PD car I saw up close had one on the trunk.

The MDT channel 863.7125 was not active in the last year or so. I recall it was licensed to Kingston FD. Any idea about this?

Kingston going to be trunked anytime soon?

Kingston covering a large area and population of around 100,000 people , and still using VHF . But I suspect Trunking system soon with FD, PD, city, and others. Maybe even in the new year developing.

Would that be a "guess" or based on specific information? Kingston already has an EDACS system with works and transit using it.
