it appears that a (new?) Kitsap 800 system is being tested this morning.

Site 10.10 has shifted a bit.

854.1625 CC

851.9125 scc
852.1000 scc
852.2625 scc
853.1125 scc

Still no activity. Definitely a stronger signal but a little wobbly.

It did, from 1 bar to 3 in some instances

Can you guys give 852.1 Mhz a try? It's freaking out my DSD+ and any other CC decoding programs. Either they switched to an encrypted control channel or it's VERY sick.

I spoke to a Kitsap911 dispatcher at the KCSO booth at the Fair last month. She said they were expecting to go "digital" on October. I presume she meant P25. I asked her if there were any plans to encrypt everything as King Co. was doing. She said she didn't think so at this time. But there were already encrypted channels for each agency.

Hopefully they follow the Pierce County model... Main in the clear and all other channels encrypted

Has anyone heard any news of a Eta on a launch date yet?
Law enforcement will not get all of their new portables until Q3 2026, and coverage testing is still ongoing. I wouldn't count on it happening soon. This is from the December Board of Directors meeting packet.

Additional discussion of encryption on page 4 - https://www.kitsap911.org/wp-conten...ap_911-Executive-Committee_Mins_2024-1211.pdf

Thanks, that was very timely info. They said in the minutes that the P25 was now live. Is it just a simulcast of the VHF channel? I'll have to see if the RR database lists the freqs yet.

Keep in mind those minutes are from last year. The system is "live" for testing and demonstration purposes, if you're referring to the first paragraph on page 4. I don't have a signal from my location, so I have no idea what system activity actually looks like as of recently.

So does this mean I finally need to upgrade to a Digital Scanner :)

This is about their portables. I don't think they're going to suspend radio operations just because they don't have portable radios. They'll just use their old ones with both systems up and running.

Probably start this up early next year and it'll be fun for the whole family.
