The local YUBA county airport has added 3 new towers to their existing 4.
Lots of antennas but what kind of antennas are the long tall, maybe lightning rods ?

Any ideas?

I have not seen those but note such installations are not normally considered RCAG (note the "R_ being "Remote" which means distant) being for airport comms and at the airport. "RCAG" usually is reference to an ARTCC's remote transceiver locations.

I have been watching the new construction. There used to be a 4 tower array using mostly TACO type antennas.
This array has probably been in use for over 30 years or so. What got my interest was the addition of the 3 new
shorter, fatter towers. I finally had to take a picture today. Maybe the FAA will take down the old towers once the
new ones are in service.

I think PRCGUY is right, those long rods are probably lightning rods.

This site is a remote controlled gnd to air for Sacramento Rancho radio.
I have heard many transmissions, live 2 miles away. There is heavy military use (Beale AFB) in addition
to VHF for Sacramento KSMF.

With all those antennas, I wonder what frequencies are is use. I know of as many as 10 so far.
