Do you know where I find the Engineer version of KPG-135D?

There is not an 'engineering' version of the software. There is an engineering serial number that gets used to activate the software.

Not sure if you'd find it on the internet or not.
What is it you are attempting to do that requires the engineering access?

need help please!!! having trouble getting my TK-863 to read or write. Using windows 10 with KPG46 ubs and KPG76D also tryed win998 with serial port nether worked

Have you confirmed you are using the correct COM port for your KPG-46 cable? Check under device manager to see what COM port it has assigned to that cable and change it to the correct COM port in your software. If your cable is the KPG-46XM with the UART and Serial switch you will need to run the cable in the UART position and have the drivers for that installed.

I've got two different cables that I've tried one of them is a kpg 46 USB cable and I've also tried a cereal port cable for Kenwood and Vertex Standard it's 2 in 1 cable both of them are unbranded and I used the cereal Port cable on Windows 98 with no luck getting it to read data and USB I used on Windows 10 and it will not read the TK 863 G and when I go into the configuration on the software on Windows 10 the only Port it's showing is com1 I'm assuming that's for the USB because my Windows 10 desktop does not have a serial port on it this purchase the radio about 2 weeks ago connected to Mike to it and when I key up after 5 Seconds it starts beeping constantly and the light will flash red for the first 5 Seconds till it starts beeping

Or maybe I am using the wrong cable I know I need the kpg 46 but which one do I need if I'm using Windows 10 or at least trying to I have a laptop with a Serial port running Windows 98 for my older Motorola I can use that one if need be

You need the USB drivers for the KPG-46 cable and need to install them. In Windows 10 go to your magnifying glass next to you Windows icon and type device manager. Open device manager and look for Ports (COM and LPT) then click on that. From there you should see your cable (plugged into a usb port on the pc) it should tell you what COM# it is. If you are using a Kenwood branded (not knock off KPG-46) it should say silicon labs with a COM Port number to the right. In my case it is comport 5





Then go to your radio software, and click setup then click on COM Port. You can then change the COM Port for the software to look for the cable. Then go to program, and try to "read" the radio.

All right thank you I will check that here in a few appreciate the help I've been trying to program it every since this past Monday it's telling me it's unable to communicate with the radio

All right I finally got it to work on a Windows 10 laptop thank you for your help it's reading I'm going to try to get it to write in a second again thank you so much
