Hey, this repeater used to clog up the air by ID'ing every ten minutes all over the Los Angeles area. It's suddenly gone? Anyone know what happened?

To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.
The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I too noticed but heard a different ID there.
I was in Oxnard Ca.
And could hear it into Santa Barbara Ca.
Sure had good coverage over So. Cal.

Was that on 462.600? What was the tone? I have not listened to GMRS in more than a year due to all the stupid stuff on all channels in So Cal but I will take a listen if I can verify the freq and tone.

Then how do you listen to So Cal GMRS? Its mostly Spanish.

Could not help it. It ID every few minutes but mostly the ID was in in English.

Yea, it was on 462.725 and I think it had a pl of 100.0. The thing used to ID every ten minutes with "Welcome to the LA Echo One Repeater". But now it's quiet as a church mouse. There's strong repeater on 462.700 with a group that actually acts like adults and uses call signs. Imagine, a repeater in the LA with people that use call signs? God, I'm so confused!

Not unlike that old 435 machine up on Mt Wilson that I could hear off on a cruise to Mexico.
