Lamar County TRS Down / Tornado Hits Camp Shelby

The Lamar County TRS system was knocked out by a severe thunderstorm that passed through this evening. All Lamar County law enforcment are using VHF low band as a back up.
Power lines down and a transformer on fire at the Hattiesburg Police Dept. also caused by a severe thunderstorm.
Flash flooding reported around the Hattiesburg and Lamar County Areas.

Tornado Hits Camp Shelby

Tornado reported hit the barracks area of Camp Shelby.
Several injuries reported. Asking for help from Forrest County

Barracks report calapsed. Forrest County Sheriff and VFD on scene helping with injuries.
Forrest General hospital put on alert.

Lamar County TRS Back on line.

Camp Shelby VHF repeaters have a lot of background noise. Repeater antennas may have been damaged. 8 injuries reported, 2 of which were severe. Many power lines down.
Tornado hit between the 2300 and 2400 blocks.

Forrest County TRS Hattiesburg Site Radio Tower blown down last night during storms.
Tower was located on top of Forrest General Hospital.

I seem to be able to hear Forrest CO. better now in Laurel Area.

The tower at Forrest General Hospital was a backup system for the Forrest County TRS. It was mostly used by Forrest General hospital and USM. It also relayed the main channels of the main system. It did not effect the main system which operates on the two other towers. It seems to be back working now.
