Does anyone know if Latah Co Sheriff has switched to a new system? I was out of town over New Year's and when I returned they were no longer on the air.

What frequencies are you talking about? I don't think they changed systems, but they might have switched frequencies. There are are quite a few vhf frequencies licensed to Latah Sheriff. Did you try doing a search for active frequencies?
For years they have used 460.375, recently I started listening to them on 156.2100 as well. I heard some traffic this morning but we were hit with about 6" of blowing, drifting snow this morning and should have heard a lot more traffic.
I believe a number of N Idaho agencies are moving from UHF to VHF due to reception problems on UHF frequencies.
Try checking these frequencies for activity.

Also, the PL tones could have changed. If you had PL tones programmed into your scanner for any of the old freqs. try removing them.
