Tower construction and infrastructure in progress. Last I heard look for a March or April switch over. Correct only thing in the clear should be Fire dispatch and some local channels.
Banks is staying VHF-HI but will be narrow banding everything soon.

Good for Banks county. White Co. SO and Helen PD has switched over to all TBRO handhelds however they are all still in analog mode. I don't envision it going much further because the new White Co. Jail is already 2 million over budget and they haven't broken ground yet.

thanks for the info! Any info on the re banding schedule?

NOTE: Narrow-banding, not Re-banding. Big difference. Narrow-banding means they must be compliant with radios that do 7.5kHz spacing along with a Narrower transmisson spec. Re-banding is what 800MHz systems had to do because of Nextel's interfering with public service frequencies.
So, if you have a scanner that does the 7.5kHz steps, you are good. I am sure that the new frequencies will be posted on RR:)

Things are still moving forward. A new tower is going up soon, and target is still April-May timeframe.
