I also have Icom's software for the PCR-1000 that will work with the PCR-100. Of course the CW, and SSB modes will not function as the PCR-100 hardware does not support them.

1.0 just seems to work strange, (might have been long data cable) from screen to screen, how can I get some newer stuff, E-mail? buy it from Icom?
Someone said that if you use the rxbase.dll file from the PCR1000 software with the PCR100, that it would then run under XP. give that a try.

I'm thinking about buying one of these units. I do not have a serial port on my computer, only usb ports. If I get an serial to usb adapter, will this scanner work with my computer. Also will the software work on my comp that is running windows xp?

Seems like someone on here did that, but they had to try several USB to serial convertors to find one that worked.

1.0 works perfectly for me on WinXP. If you're using a serial cable, I think you can go a couple hundred feet without problems. Check your baud rate, make sure it's set as high as the radio allows. Icom discontinued the PCR-100 some time ago. They no longer distribute the software for it. As I said, I have v 1.1 if you want it, I can send it to you, but I'll need you to PM your actual email address to me. I can't attach files to RR's PM's.
