Thank you much for the final clarification. Makes much more sense now. So SCD is just for Tracy and Tracy area and then everyone else such as Escalon, Ripon, and Manteca fall onto command 6 but still dispatched through control 1?

Yes, you've got the idea.

I misspoke earlier, Manteca Fire and Lathrop-Manteca Fire are also dispatched on SCD. So you have:

SCD South - South County Fire Authority (Tracy and Tracy Rural)
SCD North - Manteca and Lathrop-Manteca
Control 1 - everyone else, falling onto Command 3 or 6

I still feel like SCD North is a total waste and just simulcasted from SCD South. Whenever I do head into south county SCD south is the strongest and from my recollection I tried quick switching between SCD N/S and it seemed to be the same traffic. I haven't devoted much time listening lately but IMO SCD North has as much usage as command 5, unless someone knows any different?

I believe SCD South is designed to cover the Tracy area, and SCD North is designed to cover the Lathrop/Manteca area. They're patched together, just designed to cover different geographic footprints.

Copy that. I'll let you know what else I find out and if I can confirm what you're telling me as well. See you around the boards.

According to Ripon Fire, Command 5 is a command channel for major incidents. I've updated the DB.

Looking back through the DB. Do you think that Rippon should be moved to SCD? Feels like for North, Control 1 and Command 3 with their tac channels would solidify the 'north side' and then SCD dispatch along with command 5/6 and their tac channels would cement 'south'. Seeing how anything south of SR4 seems to be the diversion line between N/S since Lathrop and Manteca are SCD North and Ripon is the most southern city in the county, seems the best structure to move Command 5/6 down to the south group. Below the JRUG, would it be possible to further delineate by creating a north county title above the frequency list for Control 1 and friends? All merely a suggestion.

No. As mentioned before, the XSJ and SCD radio channels are dispatched by completely different dispatch centers. Also, there is not a simple north/south geographic breakdown. For example, Escalon Fire is south of SR-4 but responds on Command 3.

The way the DB is currently organized is appropriate.
