Over the last few weeks I have noticed quite an upswing in traffic on the LDS Church's radio system. Also, a whole bunch of new TG ID's have popped up. If anyone has a good currnet list, please post. I'm working on identifying about twenty different TG's, ao any help would be useful.

On the side: It seems that this particular forum has some pretty extensive contacts and knowledge. We should try to get the rest of the systems in the valley worked over and new information posted. Example: I have ALL of the TG's for the airport's system. However, I've been off due to injury, so I'll submit the info when I get back to work, as they're all on my work computer.

Cheers!

Church Security with encryption? Sounds like something the branch davidians would have done

That's the whole problem....I'm not entirely sure what I'm hearing. Until I figure out some of the call signs, it's going to be a little tricky. I have been able to pin down a couple of things for sure, like the Humanitarian Center and some of the D.I. locations, but other than that, it is still in the air.

As far as encryption goes, I'll see what I can find out, as I have a friend who works at Headquarters.

Cheers!

Just goes to show what you can do with money. Can't say as I blame the church for encrypting. Lot's of crazy threats every day on the GA's from what i've heard from a security friend of mine. And I was personally there and treated the security officer that was fatally wounded a couple of years ago. Does kinda ruin it for the rest of us honest folks that would like to listen in. Oh well. I'm afraid that this will happen more and more over the years to come.

You would think the stiff sentence Cody Judy got would dissuade the crazies.

Back to the topic of radios, Church Security recently upgraded from the DVP digital encryption system to encrypted P-25.

Back in 2004 (I think), I listened at conference and found one of the command center base radios misprogrammed to talk in the clear. Unfortunately this last conference, my Scanstar setup did not catch a single transmissing in the clear on any of the CS talkgroups.

Well, this is going to be a lively conversation. Here are the TGID's that I have found so far: 80, 176, 624, 688, 720, 1008, 1040, 1296, 1312, 1344, 1360, 1424, 1680, 3128, 16080, 16176, 17136, 17456, 17616, 17776, 18160, 18160, 18896, 19248, 19424, 32688, 32720, 32928, 56048

I have figured out just a couple of them, but the one thing I noticed is that people jump around the system very heavily (kind of like we do at the airport :) ) and will come up on all sorts of TG's.

Now, if they are an encrypted P-25, then that would tell me, based on my limited knowledge, that they are operating two different systems. If I am incorrect, please tell me (in a nice way please). If they are two different systems, then they would most likely have an Omni-Link between the two. They only thing I know for sure is that they are using Moto radios (most of them are the MTS-2000 with the 1/2 keypads), so......

Just out of curiosity what system are they using now? The database shows 2 but both contain the same data.
Last time I was in SLC I remember hearing the encrypted security talkgroup. I also remember many I-Calls being used by folks in temple square. Is that still happening?

I'm new to trunk scanning and using my Pro-94, I tried to enter the frequencies for the Church system, but I get errors on 3 or 4 of them. The errors occur on:

855.3375
856.8375
857.8375
858.8375

Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Follow up: The system type was listed as Motorola II 900 mHz, so I when I changed it to 800 mHz, it accepted the frequencies. However, I still don't get any trunking.
