It's been six years since I moved away from Lee County, so I'm not completely sure of the status of their new system. But one thing I do remember is that LCSO and Fort Myers Police use a very complicated 10 code system, which consists of not only 10-xx, but also "status" and "code" codes. It made it very difficult to keep track of what was being said. Personally I like police departments that have dispensed with using any 10-codes at all. Lincoln Police Department (Nebraska) is like this, for example.
I'm not sure it is still current, but if you like I can email you the list I compiled for the 10-code and signal system for Lee County Sheriffs Department. It is one of the four tabs along the bottom of the Excel file.
Last time I was in the fort myers area it was December 2010, it's now june 2011 and I'm down here once again visiting my parents. Monitoring both p25 and analogue with my pro-106, and haven't noticed any changes since Christmas. Haven't heard any encryption so far, and in kansas city where I live, there is some p25 encryption used there, so I know what it sounds like. Still hearing cape coral and fort myers, will have to listen a little closer for Sanabel. But everything still sounds wide open so far. Will post with updates if I notice anything different while I'm here (on a 2 month vacation).
encrypted tg's heard so far, cape coral pd 1 and 2, and ID 1135
Haven't heard Sanabel yet, but it looks like most of the p25 system switched to full encryption this morning. Fire and ems is still in the clear. Have only been listening for a half hour, but thats what it looked like when I turned on the pro-106 this morning. Will post updates if I hear anything different.
I heard this and thought it was digital, so its encrypted huh. I guess there is no way to hear it now huh?
