Leflore County Emergency Services need attention.

I want to point out, because since this has circulated, some peoples 1st thought is that it's an attack on HAM operators. Please view with an open mind and recognise that it's the lack of concern from our local government is the real issue here.

Please share,

Feel free to ask questions and discuss also, we are in it to gain attention for every town big or small...reliable communications should be a right and a priority, not a privilege or an afterthought. We all pay for the 911 centers out of our phone bills, every time you purchase time for a prepay phone 50 cents extra is added to go for emergency.

Ask questions about your local systems and make sure you will be covered in an emergency or disaster, don't presume they are doing what's right for you, odds are they aren't.

Amateur Was Involved

There were Amateur Radio Operators involved in the first first response from what I understand. There were several Radio Amateurs at the Command Post and in some of the shelters that were first set up helping pass health and welfare traffic.

I could be wrong but I know I heard some operations going on.
